I’m so happy that the loan approval was higher than expected, meaning I didn’t have to pay a large down payment as I initially thought. I’ve successfully bought a house and moved my family in, and now I own a home in Thailand for when I fly back. I have confidence and trust in Sun Gateway because they were the agent directly recommended by the bank.
Q: Please introduce yourself. How old are you currently, and what is your occupation, and where are you working?
Ms. Parichat: My name is Parichat Ta-on, I’m 27 years old. I currently work in Germany as a hotel employee in the Service Agent department, overseeing the restaurant, bar, and breakfast service. I’ve been doing this for almost 3 years. Overall, I’ve been legally in Germany on a work visa for almost 4 years.
Q: Was it difficult to adjust to the working conditions in a foreign country?
Ms. Parichat: It was very difficult to adjust, especially the language. I had to learn German from scratch because they wouldn’t hire me if I couldn’t speak it. But as time went on, I became fluent and gained experience from my previous volunteer work. He hired me.
Q: What are your plans for buying a house in Thailand this time?
Ms. Parichat: I want to have a house for my mother and younger brother to live in. They usually rent, and when I return from Germany twice a year, they have nowhere to stay and have to rent a hotel nearby. So I want to have my own house so that when I come back to Thailand for visits, we can all stay together.
Q: Why did you decide to use Sun Gateway’s services?
Ms. Parichat: At first, I approached every bank. I asked how to buy a house while working abroad. They all rejected me. Some only offered 50% financing or said I needed a salary of several hundred thousand baht, which was impossible. Then I went to the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), and they recommended Sun Gateway. That’s when I felt confident and trusted them.
Q: Were you initially worried about getting a home loan from abroad?
Ms. Parichat: Yes, I was worried about managing the documents and travel arrangements, whether I would be able to fly back to Thailand on time, and whether they were trustworthy. But then the bank recommended them… I’m confident it’s genuine.
Q: How did you feel when you found out your loan was approved?
Ms. Parichat: I found out while I was in Germany. I was very happy because I got a higher loan amount than I expected. Initially, I thought I might only get 85% because it’s a second-hand house and I needed a down payment of 200,000-300,000 baht. But the appraisal price was higher than the selling price, so I was able to borrow more. That significantly reduced my down payment burden. I’m very happy.
Q: What are your plans for receiving the house and moving in?
Ms. Parichat: I’ll fly back on Friday to complete the transfer, clean the house, and move my mother and sister in this Saturday and Sunday. Then next week I’ll fly back to Germany to continue my work.
Q: What advice would you give to Thais living abroad who also want to own a house in Thailand?
Ms. Parichat: I’d like to encourage everyone. If you want to buy a house in Thailand directly and legally through a bank’s guidance, I recommend using Sun Gateway. It’s definitely trustworthy.
Thank you for trusting SUN GATEWAY with your purchase. Congratulations on your new home!
