Think of Thailand, Think Sun Gateway

The staff provided close support and guidance at every step—the process was convenient and comprehensive. I highly recommend this service to Thais living abroad who wish to own a home in Thailand.

My name is Mayuree Haranrat. I am 54 years old and work as an Assistant Manager in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have been living in the United States for about 26–27 years.

Q: What is it like living in the United States? What was the biggest adjustment you had to make?
A: Learning English! At first, I couldn’t speak it at all—it was very difficult.

Q: Did you have to take extra English classes?
A: Mayuree: I only took classes for three months.

Q: Could you share a bit about your experience living in the United States?
A: Mayuree: When I first arrived, I worked at KFC for three months. About 3–4 years later, I left that job and started working in the banking sector—specifically at a mortgage company, a branch of JPMorgan Chase—where I stayed for about three years.
Around 2007, when the company had layoffs, I enrolled in a community college. I spent about 3–4 years there and earned an associate degree in Business.
During that time, I was also raising my children. I later applied for a bachelor’s program at San Diego State University in California. I attended for about a year, but then I took a break to study cosmetology at San Diego City College for a year, after which I began working as a cosmetologist. Eventually, I returned to San Diego State University to complete my bachelor’s degree. I graduated with a degree in Finance.

Q: What happened after that?
A: In 2018, I moved to Arizona. I’ve been working as a supervisor for about 16 years now, and currently, I’m an Assistant Manager.

Q: Did you have any concerns that living abroad might make it difficult to get a mortgage for a home in Thailand?
A: I think it would be extremely difficult—practically impossible—without a company like Sun Gateway. Since I’ve never worked in Thailand, getting a loan there is very tough; it’s almost out of the question. I could easily buy a car, but buying a house in Thailand without a local employment history is a major challenge.

Q: What are your plans for this house?
A: Right now, my younger sister is living there.

Q: How often do you return to Thailand?
A: About once every three years. The costs—airfare, food, and accommodation—make each trip quite expensive.

Q: How did you find out about Sun Gateway?
A: I saw it on Facebook.

Q: How was the service provided by Sun Gateway?
A: The service was excellent—truly outstanding. They took great care of me throughout the entire process. I’m very happy with it.

Q: Are you satisfied with the loan amount you received?
A: I’m satisfied with it. Sure, I would have liked more, but that’s alright—a larger loan would just mean having to earn even more money! (laughs)

Q: Is there anything you’d like to say to other Thais living abroad who might also want to own a home in Thailand?
A: For anyone living abroad—whether in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Japan, Switzerland, the Netherlands, or anywhere else—if you’re looking to buy a home in Thailand… I highly recommend getting in touch with Sun Gateway. They provide full support for everything—you barely have to do a thing other than prepare your documents. It’s extremely convenient, and they are very easy to reach!

Thank you for trusting SUN GATEWAY with your needs, and congratulations on your new home!
