Q: How has life in England been for the past 14 years? Did you have to adjust a lot?
A: In the beginning, adjusting to the climate was a big challenge because it’s cold for 8 months of the year, and summer is only 3-4 months. Later, as I got older, I started developing allergies to pollen and grass, so I had to take care of my health more than when I was in Thailand. But other things I’ve gotten used to and adjusted to better.
Q: Were you worried about applying for a home loan in Thailand before?
A: Yes, I was. Before, I thought it was impossible because I was working abroad. “Nowhere would approve or guarantee it. I never thought I could actually get a home loan in Thailand.”
Q: How do you plan to use this house?
A: I’ve already built houses for my parents and my own house in Korat. For this one, I want it to be a vacation home in Cha-am-Hua Hin, for relaxing when I fly back to Thailand. I also plan to move closer to the sea after retirement.
