Think of Thailand, Think Sun Gateway

I initially intended to build a house for my parents. Although my goal has changed, I still aim to pay off the mortgage so I can live in my own home in the future. I’m impressed with Sun Gateway’s service, providing detailed advice and handling all the paperwork, making overseas mortgage financing possible.

My name is Waratchaya Wilai, age 43.
I currently work in Macau in the F&B department of the MGM Cotai Hotel in Macau.
I’ve been working here for two years, entering my third year.

Q: What are the differences between Macau and Thailand? Did you have to adjust a lot?
A: There are differences, but it’s closer to home. The work environment and benefits are better, similar to other places. There’s healthcare, protection, food, and other benefits like those expected in the hotel industry.

Q: How long did it take to adjust?
A: At first, it was easy because I studied in this field. Macau is similar to Thailand; they use four languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Portuguese. However, the signs are usually Chinese and Portuguese. For general communication, I use English and Chinese.

Q: Were you worried about whether you would be able to get a mortgage while abroad?

A: I was worried. Initially, I didn’t plan on taking out a loan, but when a necessary reason arose to buy the house, I tried contacting several companies. However, most said, “You can’t get a loan if you work abroad.”
I’d already taken out a loan for this house once with one bank, and then tried to refinance with other banks, but they all rejected me. They said that people working abroad aren’t eligible for loans or refinancing because my documents weren’t sufficient. Then, a colleague who also works in Macau used Sun Gateway’s services and got approved, and they recommended them.

Q: What are your plans for this house?
A: It was initially built for my parents, but they’ve passed away. So, I plan to pay it off gradually and then move back in myself. The house is ready to move into now.

Q: Were you concerned about anything in the beginning when you contacted Sun Gateway?
A: I was worried about whether it would actually work and feared scams. I kept asking the colleague who recommended them if it was real and legitimate, because from what I knew, banks don’t usually grant loans for this type of transaction. I was also scared during the first payment, but I decided to take a chance.

Q: How did you feel after receiving the results?
A: I was so happy to know that I had been approved and could sign the contract. Before, I had to pay a large amount for my house installments, but after approval, it felt like it cut my burden in half. I felt so relieved and happy.

Q: What advice would you give to Thais living abroad who want to own a home like you?
A: I would recommend that Thais working abroad contact Sun Gateway. Their staff are excellent; they explain everything, including the required documents and the approval process. They handle all the paperwork for us until everything was approved. For those of us working abroad, sometimes our savings aren’t enough to buy a house outright. Getting a loan through a company like this, with them managing the process, is a great and organized way to do it.

Thank you for trusting Sun Gateway, and congratulations on your new home!
